There is recovery, or recovering as people like to say, from addiction. Just ask Marc Lewis who as a young man ingested whatever he could lay his hands on and seemed to reach the point of no return. In his work, Marc Lewis looks at brain processes underlying behaviour problems in children that often lead to drug and alcohol addiction. He has a blog on which a lot of recovering or ex-addicts are participating – a kind of online therapeutic community. Lemon Andersen grew up in a world of addiction. Both of whose parents died from AIDS. They tell ABC Radio National’s Cassie McCullagh how they made it out.
