The divine Phryne Fisher has had us in her thrall on recent Fridays on ABC TV. Kerry Greenwood talks to sister sleuth-creator P.M. Newton about her work, including her long-running series of books on Fisher.

Kerry Greenwood (Australian)

Kerry Greenwood is the author of more than 40 novels, six non-fiction works and the editor of two collections. The Phryne Fisher series has recently been made into a popular ABC TV series. Kerry is also the author of the Corinna Chapman crime series. When she is not writing she is a duty solicitor working for the Legal Aid Commission in magistrates' courts.

P.M. Newton (Australian)

P.M. Newton joined the New South Wales police force in 1982 and spent the next 13 years working in and around Sydney in various departments, including Drug Enforcement, Sexual Assault and Major Crime,first in uniform then as a detective. She eventually resigned to travel and live overseas. Her first novel, The Old School, was published in 2010 and shortlisted for the Indie Award for Debut Fiction, the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction, the Sisters in Crime Davitt Award and the Asher Literary Award.
