The 17-year-old daughter of a Zulu chief is found dead, covered in wildflowers on a hillside outside Durban. Was Amahle’s murder a sign that she lived a secret life? Detective Sergeant Emmanuel Cooper is sent to investigate – and greeted with a wall of ominous silence.

Award-winning crime writer Malla Nunn returns with another gripping tale set in the violent underworld of Durban, where murder, witchcraft, tribalism and taboo collide. Join Malla for an evening talk on the origins of her latest crime novel in the Detective Cooper series, and her insights into his world.

Presented with Ashfield Library.
