Stay overnight inside the Powerhouse Museum! Join the master of magic, Michael Pryor, for this steampunk-inspired event. Author of the bestselling series The Laws of Magic, Michael is currently writing books in a new series, The Extraordinaires. Michael will explain why history and places like the Museum are a fantasy writer’s best friend and lead you in a writing activity where you’ll imagine an alternate past powered by steam. A family event for children aged 8-13 accompanied by a paying adult.

Michael Pryor (Australian)

Michael Pryor has published more than 25 fantasy books and over 40 short stories. He has been shortlisted six times for the Aurealis Awards, nominated for a Ditmar Award and six of his books have been CBCA Notable Books. His most recent series are The Chronicles of Krangor for younger readers and The Laws of Magic and The Extraordinaires for older readers. Michael’s most recent work is 10 Futures, in which he contemplates what life might be like 100 years from now.
