West,-Margaret
Margaret West (Australian)

Margaret West taught art theory and practice at the University of Sydney College of the Arts from 1979 to 1999. She has travelled, exhibited and lectured extensively in Australia and overseas, and her work is represented in major public national and international art collections. Her essays and poetry have been published in anthologies, journals and catalogues. Since 2000 Margaret has lived in Blackheath in the upper Blue Mountains where she works full-time as an artist and writer.

 
Kelen,-Steve
S.K. Kelen (Australian)

S.K. (Stephen Kenneth) Kelen was born in Sydney in 1956. Since winning the Poetry Australia Prize in 1973 his poems have been widely published. In 1996 he received an Australia Council grant to travel and write in the USA and was visiting professor of writing at the University of South Dakota. In 1998 he was Asialink Writer in Residence in Vietnam and in 2000 was recipient of the ACT Creative Arts Fellowship. New and Selected Poems is his sixth book of poetry.

 
Coleman,-Aidan
Aidan Coleman (Australian)

Aidan Coleman was born in Aberystwyth, Wales, in 1976 and grew up in Nottingham, Wollongong and the Barossa Valley. His first volume, Avenues & Runways, was shortlisted for the New South Wales Premier's Kenneth Slessor Prize and his poetry is featured on ABC Radio National's Australian poetry series, A Pod of Poets. Aidan lives in Adelaide with his wife and two babies. He is an English teacher and co-author of a series of Shakespeare textbooks.

 
Hayes,-Susan
Susan Hayes (Australian)

Susan Hayes is director of literature at the Australia Council for the Arts. Since emigrating from the UK in 1981, Susan has worked extensively in the field of Australian literature and publishing in Western Australia and New South Wales. She is a Churchill Fellow and has a M.Phil in Australian studies from the University of Western Australia.

 
McMaster,-Rhyll
Rhyll McMaster (Australian)

Rhyll McMaster’s poetry was published in The Bulletin while she was still a schoolgirl. Her work has won acclaim and awards including the C.J. Dennis Prize and the Grace Leven Poetry Prize. Her poems have been broadcast and adapted for national radio and television. She has staged her poetry in a performance piece with a singer and a four-piece rock band. Her poetry and prose are interconnected, with many phrases from her poems reappearing as prose in her award-winning first novel, Feather Man.
